Film Trends Movie films have been enjoyed across the country for centuries it began with the movie theatres that started to appear in the early 1900s and grew to become the most highly successful entertainment models through the entire 20th century. Having the ability to showcase films in a theatre would display a movie to a wide range of people. Although, most movie theaters in the 19th century only had one screen, limiting audiences choices. In 1963 AMC Theaters opened the first multiple auditoriums. Through the advances of technology and the way the film industry has evolved it has revolutionized the film industry. With the film industry having ups and downs of film trends, there have been years of good revenue and bad years of revenue. During the course of this research the writer will discuss how the 2014 summer releases fit into the film trend of not creating the revenue that was predicated by the box office. Was it due failures in production that lead to poor sales? Is this just the begin ning of box office sales decline or could be just a random trend and could this trend have an influence on the futures of the box office sales? And lastly, are there anything that the film industry can do to change so that the movie theaters continue to attract audiences regardless of the new forms of media in which movie enthusiast can now access.
